Debs Daniels | Award Winning Children’s Author
Writing stories woven with truth, inviting readers to belong beyond their pages
,Debs DiGiorgio was born into adventure—literally. Her first home was a boat rocking gently in San Diego Bay. That set the tone for a life of motion and meaning: four years across Europe, countless lessons in resilience, and a heart that refuses to look away when someone is hurting.
Fostering runs deep in her family legacy. Her grandparents opened their home to foster children, giving her mother foster siblings and planting seeds of compassion that continue to shape Debs today. Growing up, she was immersed in that same compassion as her parents worked with developmentally disabled deaf adults. That foundation led her to pull weeds at a Hungarian orphanage at sixteen and, in her adult years, return to serving the developmentally disabled community by volunteering at an orphanage in Turkey. She has spent a lifetime stepping into hard places with an open mind and heart.
Today she writes from her Airstream camper, her rescued pups sprawled beside her, on a bookish journey across the US. She pours that same spirit into stories of adventure and found family that whisper a quiet truth to every kid who has ever felt forgotten: You are a treasure. You belong. She writes as Debs Daniels in loving honor of her late brother, Daniel.
In addition to writing, Debs is building Lucy’s Library Publishing and in partnership with Jenna Ditsch, Bee House Collective to bring pure, hope-filled books and community to the kingdom and into the lives of foster and adoptive families. Her mission is to create stories and spaces that heal, restore, and remind every child—biological, foster, or adopted—that they are seen, valued, and deeply loved.
Every book is a love letter to the lonely and a promise that family can be found in the most unexpected harbors.
